The Power Of Faith
Think back to when you were a child and you watched a friend or an older sibling ride a bicycle. You felt a desire start to build in you to be able to do that too. The more you saw them having fun riding their bicycle, the more desire you had to have one also. Finally you were able to persuade your parents to get you a bicycle.
With the help of a parent or older sibling, you learned to ride it. As your proficiency at riding a bicycle grew, your belief in your ability to do so became stronger. When your belief became very strong, you developed faith that you could do it any time you wanted to.
Once you had faith that you could ride a bicycle, you did so without much conscious thought. The same thing happens with everything that you believe you can do. When your belief in your abilities to do it becomes strong, you develop faith that you can do it whenever you want to.
The power of faith is greater than the power of knowledge, just as the CEO of an organization has more power than a junior manager. The power of faith is so superior to any technology that we presently have, that it is an injustice to equate faith with technology. When the power of faith is placed into action, the amount of work that we can accomplish becomes greater and greater, and whatever our purpose may be, we will positively scale the heights.
The power of our faith changes how we perceive the value of our abilities. If our belief in our capabilities is strong, we know that our ability will allow us to accomplish whatever we decide to undertake.
The power of faith is like the mystery of love. You know it is there, but you cannot see it. You feel it working and guiding you, but like the air that you breathe to sustain your life, it is not visible. Only the results of its presence prove its existence.
We think of faith as having the ability to move mountains (which it can), but the power of faith is as subtle as it is dynamic. The power of faith is relative to how much one truly believes something is possible. If you truly believe with every fiber of your being that you can do something, your mind will find a way to accomplish it.
A good example of this was Terry Fox, the one legged Canadian Hero who ran a marathon a day to raise money for the Cancer Society. Even professional marathon runners cannot run a marathon a day. However, this young man had faith that he could do it, and in all kinds of weather he ran a marathon a day for weeks, running from the east coast of Canada nearly to Thunder Bay where cancer over took him.
The power of faith is what miracles are made of. The power of faith is not seen in spectacular healing miracles or in getting people to laugh or make animal noises. It is seen in the everyday accomplishments of people who do things that no one expects them to be able to accomplish. However, they have so much faith in their capabilities that they confound their critics and accomplish something that seems to be impossible, like the blind man who climbed Mount Everest and the young university lad who was allowed to play the last few minutes of a basketball game and scored 27 points.
You too can do anything that you want to do if you develop faith in yourself. Do not let anyone tell you that you cannot and do not doubt yourself for a minute.

Understanding Prosperity Christianity - Are Christians Supposed to Be Rich?
Prosperity Christianity has gotten a bad rap. A lot of people seem to think it means that for Christians to be rich, they have to have a lot of money or else God hasn’t fully blessed them.
After watching the recent events play out in the press, for stars like Mel Gibson, Britney Spears, and Jessica Simpson, I want to challenge this belief. Although these people claim to be Christians, what they’re really doing is living in a way that Wallace Wattles, in “The Science of Getting Rich”, called swinishly.
Now, we can argue over whether or not these people really are Christians. That’s not the point. The truth is, only God really knows the answer to that one, and it’s between Him and these individuals.
My point is this: is true prosperity for Christians really all about money?
For these three, I would say no.
Does this mean Christians shouldn’t have money? Again, no.
Christians should have money, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with getting financially prosperous and having a lot of money.
Joel Osteen certainly has a financially prosperous church and marketing experts and Christians like Lisa Diane and Jimmy D. Brown have certainly demonstrated that you can have a lot of money and be happy. And none of these three shy away from living their faith.
Money has its place. As T. Harv Eker says, “You can’t pay your bills with love”.
There are several keys to prosperity that Christians need to put first:
1. Make God number one in your life. Put Him first. “Do what you do for the glory of God.” As Christians, there’s a lot of things we can do with money to spread the gospel. We can be a blessing to others.
In the words of Wallace Wattles, “You owe it to God, to yourself, and to humanity to make the most of yourself.”
Understand that God has a purpose for blessing you with a lot of money. It’s not just about being able to ride around in limos, eat in fancy restaurants, and buy whatever you want. There’s a purpose.
2. Prosperity is about balance. In order to achieve true prosperity, you need to do a lot more than just make a lot of money.
The three areas Wallace Wattles says to concentrate on are mind, body, and spirit.
This means we need a strong focus on God. We need to build strong relationships with those we love. We need to achieve health, and we need to strengthen ourselves mentally and spiritually.
Get rid of your baggage, grudges, hatreds, and anything that’s holding you back. There’s tremendous power in forgiveness because you’re releasing something you shouldn’t hold onto anyway.
I truly believe that many people have died well before their time because they held onto painful events.
Let go of this garbage and replace it with positive belief.
God thinks you’re someone special, extraordinary, and unique. He deeply loves you so much that He made you in His image, and He sent his son, Jesus, to die for you on the cross so you could have a relationship with Him forever.
Talk about an offer you can’t refuse!
3. God put those desires in your heart. Remember, God is a creator, and He created us to have a relationship with Him. He also created each of us for a purpose.
Unless those desires in your heart are sinful, God put them there. So it’s time to go for it!
True prosperity isn’t just about money. True prosperity is about becoming everything you are meant to be, to do all you are meant to do, and to have all you are meant to have.
God has big plans and big dreams for you.
We were never meant to aspire to be God, we are to aspire to be like God. That makes us creators, and we can choose to create something great, or something that’s junk.
Stop living small. Stop dreaming small, and ask God to reign down His blessings on you. Ask for everything He wants you to have. If He didn’t believe you deserved it, He wouldn’t want to give it to you. He just can’t give you what you won’t accept.
Now dream big, live big, and open yourself up to having everything God wants you to have. When you do, what you will get will be far larger, far richer, and far better than just a big bank account.

If God’s Two Witnesses Came Would The Church Let Them Through The Doors?
Are we living in the end times? Is Armageddon upon us? If God’s two witnesses came proclaiming the message that we were in the final seven years of our present day world, would anyone listen?
Are Christians being given the full message of the Gospel? Or are the Clergy choosing to keep some information to itself? Is the church in a huge cover up because they are so involved with building bigger churches and directing more people to their television ministries? Has money become the bottom line and teaching people how to hear from God the last thing on their agenda?
I am an author of a Christian book. In my endeavor to spread God’s message I naturally felt that my market should be directed to the churches. So I began by mailing a picture of my book cover and information on how to purchase my book to the surrounding churches in my state. Months passed and hundreds of mailings were sent out. The majority of the churches would not post my information on their bulletin boards.
I was shocked and I questioned why they wouldn’t give their church members access to this book. Maybe it was because I was a woman? Or could it be because I had been an upholster for the past thirty-two years. Of course it could be because I had no theologian education. As I questioned their lack of interest many biblical stories came to my mind.
Amos was a farmer, David a shepherd, Peter a fisherman, Paul a tent maker, yet they were all called by God. Jesus was a carpenter and He was the very Son of God and the Savior of the world. It seemed that according to the Bible I didn’t need any credentials, just a calling from God.
If this is the case then why weren’t the churches allowing their congregations the knowledge that my book existed? Here is the letter I mailed out to the churches:
Dear Church Leader,
I wanted to personally invite you and your congregation to read this book, It answers in detail the reason for our present day life experiences, using my life as an illustration. We want all churches from all religious backgrounds to post the cover and how to purchase this book on their bulletin boards.
So many Christians are depressed and they play the blame game when something bad happens to them in their life. They are worried and upset over the unbelief of some of their family members. They are concerned about raising their children in a world filled with chaos. Christians want to know why they have cancer or why their child died in Iraq. This book answers all of these questions using my life and biblical truths.
This book is filled with encouragements and answers to the hard questions we face in life. Families will be brought together, parents will understand their teenagers, and it will teach us not to judge. This book eliminates the debates over homosexuality, divorce, and abortion. It is clear and easy to understand; it will break down the barriers of misunderstanding and reveals a truth that is being hidden.
This book will help your leaders and teachers be better councilors and deliver messages that are more effective to the congregation. It will draw more people into your church so God can meet the needs of the church less people. The words in this book will explode into revelation that will ignite a fire in the hearts of all mature Christians who need the right ingredients in order to meet the needs of their unchurched family members and friends.
Then a letter came and I was excited. A chief under-shepherd of a large church was kind enough to answer my questions. He gave seven reason why he wasn’t going to let anyone know about my book. Here’s what he wrote:
1. I don’t know what message your presenting.
2. You seem to place ‘my life’ first and biblical truths’ second, in terms of sources for truth.
3. I’m always suspicious when someone tells me they’ve found ‘hidden truth’.
4. I’m also suspicious when someone tells me that a book (other than the Bible) will draw people, make messages better, or explode into revelation.
5. I don’t know your denominational affiliation. Are you Mormon, Jehovah’s Witness, Moonie, 7th Day Adventist?
6. I’m leery of people who say “GOD TALKED TO ME”, because those words often precede words that contradict scripture.
7. I’m also hesitant because you’ve mentioned the issue of homosexuality, but give little indication of where you stand.
He concluded his letter with these final words. “In short I can’t recommend a book that I don’t know. Hope this has been helpful.”
Immediately I was happy for his input, but if he had so many questions why didn’t he just purchase my book and see what I had to say? I didn’t ask the clergy of any church to recommend my book, I just asked them to let the people know that it existed.
There is a popular Christian song being played on the radio called, “My Jesus”. The song states that if Jesus walked into our present day churches they would not let Him in. They wouldn’t want His bloodied body, nail pierced hands, and muddy shoes to soil the white carpet found in the sanctuaries.
If a prophet came with a message from God, does that mean he or she would have no hope of reaching God’s children? When the church doors are slammed shut, then where does a messenger of God go to get out God’s words?
Why are Christian people not being given the resources that are available so they can make up their own mind? Are the pastors afraid of new teachings? Or are all Christian lay people incapable of making good decisions, so the pastor’s need to keep their congregations in the dark?
Maybe we live in the dark ages where the Priest did all of their sermons and scripture readings in Latin, because they didn’t want the ordinary, uneducated people to understand “The Words of God”. This way the people had to believe what they said was the proper way to serve and worship God.
I can only state that I found from my marketing book experience, that all denominations of churches, wouldn’t let anyone in if they claimed to have a “MESSAGE FROM GOD”. So if God’s two witnesses showed up proclaiming that the end of all things were near, I can only conclude that the doors would never be freely opened.
The only way a Christian will have the ability to hear from God is if they take responsibility for their faith. They must pursue Christian books and religious teaching resources. They must educate themselves!
The only way the world will know that Armageddon is upon us is not from the church, but through the power of the media. The media needs to recognize what the church is covering up and reveal the truth. So when God’s “TWO WITNESSES” show up they will be able to proclaim “THE VERY WORDS OF GOD”.
My name is Linda C Dipman, in my new book I state,”God Spoke to Me” and gave me a message for His children. My webpage is http://www.outskirtspress.com/gameoflife. Over the past twenty years, God directed me to use the Bible and my own life story to expose our world as a huge multifaceted game.
How To Combat Terrorism?
Whenever there is a religious, social oppression, the tribes come closer, grow stronger in their beliefs. This is what happening around the world. With more than 300 billion dollars spent on war and more than 3000 soldiers lost their lives, not to mention loss of innocent civilian lives in Iraq, the insurgents number keep growing. No matter how much homeland security we implement, terrorists will always find ways to kill innocent people to make a point about their belief system. Historically, incognizance is the root cause to all the evils in the world including terrorism.
War on terrorism is like a band-aid to a crack in a water dam. xxxxxxVarious major religions are alternative paths to the same God. Basic belief is -There is a God, which is a near universal phenomenon. Faith plays a major role in the function and justification of religious beliefs. Blind faith dominates in religion and this undermines the logic, rational and free thinking. However, you can not be blinded by faith in religion. In the name of religion, we shield ourselves. We are creating walls, boundaries not only around nations, land, sea, and sky; but around each other. And that is what separating God from us. Every religion guarantees good life on earth and a safe trip to heaven after death. xxxxxxTerrorism is going on despite Saddam Hussein is kept in jail and will continue even after Osama Bin Laden is killed. Terrorists will multiply everywhere like weeds on a lawn. So what is the solution? One has to learn to achieve peace with his or her own mind which can be accomplished with self-knowledge. I can challenge you that we can combat terrorism if only that all the preachers, priests, popes, imams, clerics, spiritual gurus teach tolerance and respect to fellow religions and promote commonality of all religions. Instead, they are only pouring oil on a fire with hatred, biased, inflammatory, and narrow-minded preaches. I want to remind you that it is important to remember that you only can change what you think and gain some conscious control over your emotional life. It is in your power to change your mind for the better through logic and common sense. xxxxxxIf you do not change your inner consciousness, you can never win the war on terrorism. Spread the tolerance and respect to fellow human beings- religion and faith. It is the only synthetic approach to this burning global problem.

Praying Correctly and Effectively So God Will Listen
Prayer is very important. There are medical studies linking both prayer and meditation with better health. People who pray on a daily basis have been found to experience lower blood pressure, less stress, stronger immune systems, less depression, to live longer and happier lives, etc… These are great benefits and should not be overlooked, but the reason for prayer is to communicate with, ask for help and forgiveness, and please God.
To pray correctly we must be sincere and pray from the heart. Jesus Christ was angered by the falseness of the local religious leaders and likened them to hypocrites - “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him (Mathew 6:5-8). Here Jesus Christ specifically states to pray in quiet, not to rant and babble like many priests and evangelists do. This is not sincere, as they are trying to impress their followers and stroke their egos with their impressive vocabulary. God is infinitely smarter than that and will not be impressed by incantations, repetition, and insincerity. He wants us to pray in private, not for show. God would much rather hear a prayer from someone meek and sincere.
We can pray about anything and there is nothing saying you can’t repeat requests. We should pray not only about what troubles us, but also for forgiveness and what we are thankful for - our families, good times, God’s help, etc… In Matthew 6:9-15 Jesus Christ gives us a great example of how to pray - The Lord’s Prayer - “This then is how you should pray:” ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we have forgotten our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’ For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” Jesus Christ implies in the Lord’s Prayer that we need to forgive everyone. We have all sinned and all need forgiveness. We also need to be thankful for what God has given us. We may be poor, we may have a terrible boss or financial hardships, but we need to look through this and find the good. There is always some good we can reflect upon.
Prayer can be very benefitial when done correctly as God will actually hear and answer prayers and requests that are sincere, truthful, forgiving, and not full of earthly desires - this is coveting and is one of the ten commandments - “Thou shalt not covet.” When our prayers aren’t answered, maybe its because we weren’t praying for the right reasons or for what we really need. Remember, God knows and sees everything and loves all of us so much that he sent his only son Jesus Christ to die for us and our sins. Let us honor him by praying correctly and for the right reasons.

Mourning - The Expression of Grief
According to Webster’s New World Dictionary grief is defined as “intense emotional suffering caused by loss, disaster, misfortune, etc.; acute sorrow; deep sadness.” Mourning is the expression of grief.
We usually think of grief as affecting our feelings and emotions, but it really affects every part of us. We may feel things such as shock, anger, fear, anxiety, guilt, loneliness, helplessness, depression, confusion, overwhelming emotional pain, feeling empty or lost… Physically we may experience numbness, shortness of breath, a heaviness or tightness in the chest, fatigue, headaches, muscle tension…
We may not be able to sleep or concentrate on anything. We may have no interest in what is going on around us or in things that previously were very important to us. We may over-react or be hypersensitive and feel out of control. We may cry and cry or feel nothing at all and show no emotion. We may want to be alone or feel afraid to be alone. We may feel like we need to run away from it all or even the need to attack someone or something.
One of our first responses to loss is to search for a cause or anything that might offer just a hint of explanation or justification or meaning that might help us in dealing with grief. This search sometimes causes us to question our faith in God and our religious beliefs, adding to the turmoil and grief that the loss already thrust upon us.
The death of loved ones is the most difficult loss to recover from. All our dreams and plans with or for them come to nothing, leaving us feeling empty and forlorn. We feel as if a big, clumsy, fiendish claw has thrust itself deep into our vital organs and callously ripped a chunk out of us, leaving a ragged hole that we can’t imagine will ever heal.
We all react to grief and loss differently and process it in our own way and time. However, there’s one key element that is required of all of us if we want to recover from our loss. The key element in working successfully through the grieving process is action. Simply sitting back and waiting for time to heal our deep sadness and intense emotional suffering brought about by loss or death is not enough.
Mourning is a process in which we take action to define and process the pain of our loss, seek effective ways to respond to it, adjust to our new reality, reconstruct our lives and eventually heal.
Mourning begins with the simple action of acknowledging and expressing our pain. Job provides an example of the mourning process. Just like all of us he was busy with the day to day routines of his life-business, family, friends, religious, and community duties and responsibilities. Sure, he was aware of the risks of living where he did. He knew there were violent gangs and rustlers who attacked and stole ranchers’ herds from time to time. He knew violent wind and lightning storms caused destruction and death sometimes. He may even have personally experienced loss from these things or from drought or floods or infestation of destructive insects at some point in his career. Illness, disease and death were regular occurrences in his life as in ours. He just didn’t expect them to happen to him and certainly not all at once!
And when it happened to him, Job reacted just like you and I do. He grieved.
“Why didn’t I die at birth?” Job groaned in his intense pain. “If I had I’d be at peace now. Why does God prolong my miserable life when I long for death? I have no peace or rest-only troubles and worries. It’s impossible to weigh my misery and grief! They outweigh the sand along the beach…” (Job 3; Job 6:2,3)
“Why is life so hard? Why do we suffer?” (Job 7:1)
Job was bombarded with conflicting thoughts and feelings. Like his friends, Job had always believed that sinners suffered trouble and hardships, but those who loved and obeyed God were spared. Job was confident that he had no sin on his slate that remained unconfessed. He was careful to never do anything that would offend God, but knowing no one is perfect he regularly offered sin and guilt offerings to atone for each sin, both known and unknown. So what was going on? Was God unfair? Why was he being treated like a sinner when he knew he was blameless and in right standing with God? Was everything he believed to be true about God, not true after all? God was his friend. But why was God suddenly treating him like an enemy?
He began to question God, and demand an explanation. He felt very confident that God was wrong. He examined and honestly voiced his troubling questions and looked for answers.
“I am sick of life! And from deep despair, I complain to you, my God. Don’t just condemn me! Point out my sin. You have not explained all of your mysteries, but you catch and punish me each time I sin. Guilty or innocent, I am condemned and ashamed because of my troubles. Sometimes I try to be cheerful and to stop complaining, but my sufferings frighten me, because I know that God still considers me guilty. So what’s the use of trying to prove my innocence? God isn’t a mere human like me. I can’t put him on trial. Who could possibly judge between the two of us?” (Job 10:1,2; 10:13thru15; 9:27thru29, 32thru33)
“Leave me alone and let me die; my life has no meaning. Why am I your target and such a heavy burden? Why do you refuse to forgive?” Job 7:16, 20thru21
Then…
From out of a storm the Lord said to Job: “Why do you talk so much when you know so little? Now get ready to face me! Can you answer the questions I ask? How did I lay the foundation for the earth? Were you there? Did you ever tell the sun to rise? And did it obey? Can you arrange stars in groups such as Orion and the Pleiades? Do you control the stars or set in place the Big Dipper and the Little Dipper… I am the Lord All-Powerful, but you have argued that I am wrong. Now you must answer me. Are you trying to prove that you are innocent by accusing me of injustice?” (Job 38:1thru4, 12, 31thru32; 40:1, ![]()
Job said to the Lord: “Who am I to answer you? I did speak once or twice, but never again. No one can oppose you, because you have the power to do what you want. I have talked about things that are far beyond my understanding. You told me to listen and answer your questions. I heard about you from others; now I have seen you with my own eyes.” (Job 39:3thru5; 41:1thru6)
In his mourning process, Job defined and boldly expressed his feelings and thoughts. He looked to God as he sought answers and effective ways to respond to his grief and loss. Experiencing God for himself helped him begin to adjust to his new reality. With his new, enlightened view of God he could reconstruct his life and heal.
God is bigger than our pain, disappointment, doubt, fear - and everything else we can throw at Him. I encourage you, my friend, to include God as you take action to process and express your grief so you can reconstruct your life and heal.

Trust and Obey
Don’t let your hearts be troubled Trust in God, and trust also in me. John 14:1 NLT
If they listen and obey God; they will be blessed with prosperity throughout their lives. All their years will be pleasant. Job 36:11 NLT
Thoughts race across the frontier of my mind like wild horses, running ahead of a prairie fire. I feel fear and doubts rising within me like black specters from some deep, dark abyss. My soul mate, my husband is dying. I am facing an uncertain future. I am too young
to collect social security, and I know deep within me that I cannot return to my former profession, counseling. I haven’t enough emotional energy to cope with my own grief and loss, and to simultaneously hold someone else’s emotions. Maybe I will be able to sometime in the future after I have navigated the slippery slopes of widowhood. Yet I will need a
source of income. The bills are piling up and I haven’t paid our tithe. I pray. I hear a still quiet voice say trust and obey. “Okay, okay, Lord. I’ll pay the tithe”. After saying this I wander into the kitchen where my husband is reading the Bible. “Grab your Bible and
turn to Malachi 3:8.”
1 did as he requested and read the passage aloud: Should people cheat God? Yet you have cheated me! But you ask, What do you mean? When did we ever cheat you? You have cheated me of the tithes and offerings due to me.
It was as if God was confirming for me that I had heard him correctly. I Wrote the tithe check, but the words trust and obey lingered in my head for several days.
At first it was baffling, God, I did obey. I wrote the tithe check. Why are you still saying “Trust and obey?” As I meditated on these words, God revealed to me that He wants more than just a monetary tithe. He wants me! He has a plan and a purpose for my life.
For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 NLT
He wants to birth a new life for me. My old life is ending. A new life must be birthed, and God is doing it even now. God is teaching me how to be a writer, an author who writes for His Glory. He is challenging me to face the greatest fear of my life, the fear of success. Fear of success, you say? Don’t you mean fear of failure? No, no, a thousand times NO. I know failure. I understand failure. God knows how many times I have failed. I may not like failure, but I am comfortable with its boundaries. I know what to say, how to act and how to be a failure.
What I don’t know and therefore fear is success. But God is success. He knows what to say, how to act, and how to be a success. I can be His willing pupil or I can try to run and hide. I say try because I have never yet been able to run and hide from the Lord.
In that moment I made a decision, a decision that I would believe God and write for Him. It is a life changing decision. Questions flood my mind like a huge tsunami and are answered before I even utter them. It is amazing how God puts the right people in the right place at the right time to assist me along my journey.
God arms me with strength, and he makes my way perfect. He makes me as surefooted as a deer, enabling me to stand on mountain heights. Psalm 18: 32,33 NLT
The Greeks speak of time in two ways: chronos and kairos. Chronos is chronological time. What my husband is experiencing as he winds down to the final day of his earthly life. Kairos is a season of time or the right time for something to occur. I am living in kairos, a new season of my life. I know beyond the shadow of a doubt that God is leading me forward. God is birthing a new life in me.
The Lord says, I will guide you along the best pathway for your life I will advise you and watch over you. Psalm 32:8 NLT
