The Power Of Commitment

Commitment is a responsibility to someone else or to you. When you commit to a course of action, you are responsible for ensuring that you do that action. If your commitment was to another person, that person expects that you will do what you committed yourself to do. If you commit to yourself that you will do something, you will feel bad if you don’t, your self-esteem will plummet and the action will not get done. That unfulfilled action could be the difference between a life of plenty and a life of just getting by. It will certainly mean that your life will not go in the direction that it could have gone if you had taken the action.

Abraham Lincoln said, “A commitment is what transforms a promise into reality.”

Commitment is hard. It comes with a responsibility to carry out the action that you have pledged to do. If you are in business, you commit to providing your customers with the products they desire with the best service possible. Service commitment is a business pledge that your customers expect you to keep. If you fail to do so, you will find that your business slowly withers away. So, commitment is a business necessity. It is the key to maximum business performance.

Commitment is what saves you, and all of us, from our fickle ego and its fluctuating fears and desires. If you fail to make a commitment to some course of action, then you are not really obliged to continue that course of action. For example, suppose you decide that you are going to go to the gym and exercise for an hour a day. You go for a couple of days and then on the third day you really don’t feel like going. If you haven’t made a commitment to do this exercise regardless of how you feel, then quitting the exercise is acceptable. If on the other hand you have made a commitment to do the exercise, then come what may, you are obliged to continue doing it.

You will find that a life of ethical commitment is a life full of rich relationships, meaningfulness, integrity and joy. Commitment is at the core of social life. The warm happy aspects of love are more likely to be evidenced if the underlying commitment is rock solid. Commitment is an important determinant of any relationship, either personal or professional. It is very difficult to build trust with another individual if we do not commit ourselves to do our very best to make our relationship with that other person the best that it can possibly be.

Commitment is healthiest when it is not without doubt, but in spite of doubt. There is only one sure thing in life and that is that at some point you will die. Everything else depends on you and your commitment to a course of action to have your life go in the direction that you want it to go. Unfortunately, commitment is something that many of us in this culture are averse to; we want to “keep our options open” and “be free to do what we want to.”

This sounds nice and many people believe it; however, those that do leave the outcome of their life in the hands of someone else. If you don’t commit to directing your own life, you become a passenger, taken wherever someone else wants you to go. This is why so many people complain today that their life just isn’t turning out the way they wanted it to turn out. How can it? They are in the ship of life with no helmsman and no rudder, just drifting with the currents. For life energy to move in a desired direction, commitment is essential.

Commitment is the difference between mediocrity and excellence. Commitment is the most powerful force we have. When we commit to something, we take an active part in ensuring that the outcome of what we committed to is as close to perfect as possible. And that is exactly what everyone wants, everything as close to perfect as possible.

To ensure that it happens for you, make your commitment to your life today. With commitment from you, anything is possible, without it nothing is possible. So, remember commitment is a responsibility from you to yourself. Take that commitment and make your life all that you want it to be.

An Overview Of Fly Fishing

Fly fishing is a very old form of fishing and requires finesse and accuracy to catch fish, although fly fishing in no way limits you to catching small fish. It is possible to catch nearly any type of fish by fly fishing, but the majority of anglers use flies for salmon and trout fishing.

The best that historians can tell, the first record was in the second century AD in Mesopotamia. Flies were tied using rooster feathers and were cast using a six foot pole with line that was about as long. Modern day fly fishing setups are actually somewhat similar, although they have definitely progressed.

Fly fishing rods are typically longer than a normal fishing rod and very light. The line is heavier than you might expect, and the weight aids in casting. For the most part, the reel is a line holder and does not spool line out when you cast, as with many other rod and reel combinations.

When fly fishing, the angler releases a portion of line and essentially whips it back and forth, trying to place the fly in front of a fish to entice it to strike.

There are a large variety of different flies, but most of them are very small and lightweight. They can float, sink, or be designed to suspend a few inches beneath the surface. More so than most types of fishing lures, flies are made to resemble the food the fish actually feed on.

The main types of flies, although there are many subgroups, are dry flies and emergers, nymphs, streamers, wet flies, saltwater flies, bass and panfish flies, and salmon and steelhead flies. These basic types of flies can be modified for different fishing situations and color patterns and combinations are nearly endless.

One of the most popular uses of their gear is trout fishing. Although you do not need a fly fishing setup to go trout fishing, many accomplished anglers eventually go down this road. Fly fishing for trout works well because the tiny flies resemble the trout’s actual food source.

Trout fishing guides recommend that you look at what kinds of insects are active where you are fishing and use flies that resemble them. The local insect population will help you determine not only the type and color of fly to use, but also whether to use a fly that will float or sink.

The sport of trout fishing and fly fishing in general has a reputation of being hard on the wallet, but many sports stores offer fishing gear for beginners at a reasonable price. While beginner gear will eventually need to be exchanged as the level of skill of the angler increases, choosing low cost equipment to start means the fisherman can save for upgrades.

How To Protect Your Personal Information From Identity Thieves Online

We all know criminals are out there, waiting to steal our information. All they want to do is run up the bill then leave you with the debt. Most of these thieves are very far away. The most common way for someone to steal your information is through a fake email and they usually say that there has been a problem with your account and needs attention and attention meaning your information.

Identifying these fake emails isn’t hard, most of the time the person doesn’t even have a credit card from which the company the thief is sending from. Then you can also right click on the link that they send you and even see if the website they sent is even real.

These criminals don’t want you to see their website source they want you to click on the link so it will take you right to the site. Most of these sites are identical to the real credit card companies many use, therefore causing for many to steal your information as you type all your information in to the fake website.

Those of you who have become victims of this scam probably realized too late and by then the thieves would have already went on a shopping spree with your credit card, running up the bill within minutes or even seconds. Once you have entered all your info in the fake website you have already done exactly what they wanted you to do and no longer need you.

If you received an email that is a fake you should delete it ASAP. Even just clicking on the link to investigate could cause your computer to become infected with viruses or spyware, causing for them to steal your info anyways.

If you do your part and protect all your info you have nothing to worry about. As you know your personal info is very important you would never want it to fall into the wrong set of hands. As long as you keep it protected you will have nothing at all to worry about. There are always people out there on the internet waiting for you to mess up and steal your info so you should always be on the look out. All they want is your credit card info and your personal info so do everything you can to protect it and give it to no person.

A criminal will do anything they can to get what they need that is why it is so very important to keep it hidden. If you keep it protected then you will have nothing to worry about and these thieves that are out there doing this wont be able to complete their scam. Some of these thieves will even actually try and get you to send them money. They might even try to get you involved in the scam by writing you emails to help them out but you really don’t know it’s them messing with you.

How To Wear This Season’s Hottest Looks

This season, the cutsie dress is making a strong comeback along with t-shirt dresses, drawstring waists and hems and mini skirts. These are all simple additions to your closet and are very inexpensive updates that can be done. If you’re a mom, you may find your daughter raiding the attic for some true vintage treasures; if this is the first time you’ve seen this look, you might be wondering the best way to pull these looks together. So, before you go shopping, check out these few tips that you should keep in mind when purchasing.

One of the cutest, and most flattering looks, is to pick a jumper that is fitted and rouched at the bust; this creates a swingy shape and gives you room to wear a shirt underneath. Jumpers and pinafore dresses are already very girly, so choose them in neutral shades and compliment them with a shirt that is bold in color. If you’re headed to the farmer’s market, throw on a bright, paper-thin t-shirt underneath and put a pair of flip-flops on your feet; on the opposite end of the spectrum, if you’re going to the office, opt for a more structured blouse, bold, but sans frills, and a pair of ballet flats or wedges. The rouching at the bustline gives this outfit plenty of flair, so jewelry is not necessary.

T-shirt dresses are a staple in many a fashionista’s closet. One of the simplest items to slip on, dress up or down and head to Starbucks in, everyone from Los Angeles to New York City is wearing them. The problem with these is that, traditionally, they have been made to be a bit more clingy; those of us without a personal trainer can be left feeling a bit self-conscience. This year, designers are answering the call to ease up and design a dress that even those of us that are not a size 2 can wear, comfortably and confidently. Showcasing t-shirt dresses with more swing and shift has allowed all of us to enjoy one of the most perfectly perfect clothing items that summer can bring. Another addition has been the drawstring hemlines which give these a sporty look with more volume. Pop these on with sandals or ballet inspired Keds and you can go from morning to evening without ever changing your clothes.

Mini-skirts are back and popular as ever this summer season. For those of us who lived the 80s and early 90s, these are nostalgic pieces that bring back visions of Cyndi Lauper and the women of the Van Halen videos. Since then, like us, the mini has evolved. Different cuts require careful consideration when pairing with a top and shoes so you can look your very best. If choosing an A-line mini, you’ll have some swing to work with at the hips. Boxy styled t-shirts will create a straight and uniform line around your torso if you tuck them in, which equates to ultra-flattering. Paired with a set of canvas Mary Janes and you’ll be cute and comfortable.

Fitted minis are sexy and the ultimate in classic throwback. Because the hemline is longer on this style, you’ll find that these hit the lower thigh and will make for the safest option at the office. A loose blouse, belted, gives a softer look and balances the sexiness; low heels complete this look. A newer addition to the mini line-up, but very in line with the trends, is the bubble mini. These are meant to be worn low on the hips, so if you’re self-conscience about bending over and the possibility of your lower back showing, this may not be the best look for you. These are gathered and very full, so they are best balanced with a fitted tank and flat sandals or espadrilles. Finally, the full mini rounds out this group of summer fashion. Of all 4, this mini will make your legs appear the slimmest because, again, it is a very full skirt, but more structured than the bubble. Paper-thin tunic-style shirts look great with these and create a long, lean look. To make your legs appear their longest, slip in to wedges.

In the heat of summer, a dress is often the simplest and most comfortable thing to wear. It also happens to be incredibly sexy and versatile. The fact that these are low maintenance and inexpensive additions to your wardrobe make the purchase a no-brainer. Show off your sexy smarts and grab these styles up today!

Eight Fun Tips to Fight Depression and Stress

Are you one of those people who impatiently wait for spring to arrive? Does the gloom of winter months and cloudy days depress you and sap your energy? Many Americans suffer from a condition aptly named Seasonal Affective Disorder. There are many ways of fighting SAD and they all can be effective in treating depression and stress at any time of the year. Here are a few tips to make your day a little brighter, happier, and healthier.

Spend 15 minutes longer in the shower and use an expensive soap or body wash. Or, take a relaxing, soothing bubble bath with mood lighting and a soothing scent in your bath. Vanilla and lavender scents are excellent for easing tension and relieving depression.

Sing! Yes sing, with the radio, your iPod, or your favorite record, tape or CD. Sing at the top of your lungs with gusto and enjoyment! Sing for at least five minutes and don’t worry about the neighbors. If you sound great, you will entertain them and make them smile, if you are terrible or just think you are, you could give them a good laugh, which can help ease their stress and depression.

If you are a grandparent, take one of your grandchildren for a walk. Let them spend the night, or just let them sit on your lap and listen to them talk. Warm hugs, happy chatter, and the warmth of a child in your lap will cheer up nearly everyone. If they are small, look into their eyes and feel the miracle of life. If they are older, let them help you make cookies or bake a cake.

Sleep in! If you are not working, sleep in instead of setting the alarm. If you are still working, choose one of the weekend days and turn the alarm clock off and enjoy a little extra time in bed. It sometimes feels good to ignore habits and allow yourself an indulgence.

Speaking of indulgence, eat a little dark chocolate. New research has proven dark chocolate is actually good for us. Break off a piece and allow it to dissolve slowly in your mouth. Enjoy the flavor, experience the feel and taste of it on your tongue. Allow yourself to be in the moment! Remind yourself that a small amount of dark chocolate is now considered good for you!

Watch a comedy, or play your favorite movie. Be sure to choose a happy one, a movie that will make you smile or laugh out loud will do wonders for stress and depression. Watch reruns of I Love Lucy, Full House, or Three’s Company, they will take you back to a happier time and lift depression.

Make yourself a cup of tea with lots of lemon. Sit in your favorite chair and enjoy the warmth of a sunny spot in your home. Smell the wonderful aroma of the lemon and tea, tasted it, sip it slowly and savor the taste of it on your tongue.

Send flowers to a special friend or to yourself! The flowers will remind you of spring, new growth and remind you winter and depression will both pass with time.

Have fun, indulge yourself, and laugh. All of these suggestions will help you age healthier and keep your body young.

How Dust Mites Make Asthma Sufferers’ Lives Miserable

Ah, the almighty dust mite. It used to be thought that although dust mites, indeed, do look creepy crawly and pretty scary when you look at them up close (you must magnify them to look at them, as they are microscopic insects), that they were relatively harmless. Now, however, we know that this is not the case. Unfortunately, there’s little you can do about dust mites. They’re here, and they’re here to stay. However, you can do things that will help you manage them, if not completely eradicate them.

In a normal mattress, there are literally thousands and perhaps hundreds of thousands of dust mites in it. The same holds true for your pillows. Now, you can’t see them, because as stated above, they are microscopic. There are hundreds of them in a speck of dust. Nonetheless, although they are tiny, they can cause havoc for you, especially if you have asthma or other allergies.

Simply put, dust mites have a protein in their waste that can trigger an asthma attack. And, guess what? They can produce 200 times their body weight in waste. That’s a lot of dust mite waste to be breathing in, and it can help your asthma symptoms a lot to minimize it.

Although dust mites are in every room in your house, they are particularly popular in the bedroom. They seem to like mattresses and pillows especially, for example. Dust mites live off the dust in your house (which is how they got their name “dust mite”), and by and large, they like the dust in your house. And dust is composed of, what? Dead skin cells. Yes, you guessed it, dead skin cells that we shed every day just going through the course of our daily lives. Perhaps you didn’t know that not only do you shed skin cells when you’re in the shower trying to exfoliate, but you also shed skin cells simply by brushing your hand against your shirt, for example, or pulling on a pair of slacks. The simple act of touching skin sloughs off tiny microscopic particles of skin, and this is the kind of thing dust mites like.

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to eliminate dust mites completely. It simply can’t be done. However, you can do your part to greatly minimize them in your house. Certainly, you can cut them down enough so that you can live with your allergy and/or asthma symptoms and so that dust mites don’t bother you.

First of all, you can go a long way toward eliminating allergy and/or asthma symptoms, especially at night, by buying yourself an anti-mite dust cover for both your mattress and pillows. Most department stores now carry these, and you can also find them online. Not only do they protect the mattress and/or pillows from being infested by dust mites, but they will protect you from any dust mites that are already there.

Second of all, do the best you can to keep your house very clean. This is not to say sterile, however. It is greatly touted, now, that antibacterial cleaners and our rabid need to have our homes “sterile” are among the main reasons that we are developing asthma at greater and greater rates. We simply don’t develop our immunities to the point that we used to, because we don’t live around enough dirt, simply put. In addition, children don’t play outside the way they used to, and so, they aren’t exposed to dirt, as they were then, to build up the proper immunities. Therefore, although you must keep your house clean, you should not keep it sterile. A big factor in allergies, though, is dust in the house, and this you can do your best to keep to a minimum without having to do the antibacterial scourge. To do this, simply use a damp cloth to dust, making sure that you pick up dust instead of simply scattering it around, as a feather duster would.

Third of all, make sure you wash your bedding weekly. Use hot water when you do so. If a great deal of the clothes your closet tend to hang for long periods of time without being worn, you might want to consider using dust mite covers for them as well, including your bedding and pillows. Finally, you should either have no carpeting in your house or a very good vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter. You can also wear a facemask when you vacuum if vacuuming causes allergies or an asthma attack for you.

Although dust mites are bother, they can be a nuisance instead of a hazard with these simple steps. You may even find once you’ve taken steps to control them that dust mites are a major cause of your asthma attacks and that controlling them will greatly ease your symptoms.

Career Networking - 5 Easy And Free Job Finding Tactics

Building your capability to move your career along is a huge step forward for anyone in the job search game. Making this happen is not as difficult or as complicated as you might think, because of the hundreds of contacts you already have.

This means networking is much more than the occasional get together over chilled chardonnay and finger food. It becomes a much bigger game and there are job finding tactics to use to get what you want - that job of your dreams!

1. Phone a Friend

You have dozens, maybe hundreds of people you know, from the most recent to years ago. So using this network brings you warm leads who most often will be shouting, just for you too. Make the most of this by giving them a call and renewing old relationships; meet for coffee or lunch; catch a movie together. This easy job finding tactic means that you don’t have to waste time doing things you hate to do - like cold call or plead for help at some artificial employment agency. It’s in your control to be with people you like and people who are like you.

2. Reel Them In

Getting help is more than a case of asking. Much more. Stephen Covey, in ‘The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People” talks about an ‘emotional bank account’. You make deposits by doing things that others value - like listening well; being interested in them; being trustworthy and keeping your promises (to name a few!). When you want something from someone you have to make these deposits and often in the circumstances you are in, in very short spaces of time. Listen really well - ask them questions about what’s important to them; pay attention; listen much more than you talk; be patient and wait till they ask about you - then ask!

3. Ask For Help

The summit of your job finding tactics is to get people working for you. So you need to let them know that they can help you - they are valuable people you know will support and help you. It’s a big emotional shout, is asking for help, especially when you use the words, ‘I need your help’. So you can use it to your advantage, without showing that you are desperate. Remember, this comes after you’ve earned your credits and built the conversation around them, so time it perfectly, when they ask you what’s going on in your life!

4. Provide Value For Them

If you want to know how to absolutely ensure that you will get the support from these friends, family and other acquaintances, then you have to do only one thing. You have to recognize ways that you can help them and provide that help. So, OK, that doesn’t sound easy maybe, does it? But if you listen well, then you are already offering far much more than anyone else. A listening, objective ear is unusual! People are always trying to fix them; offer advice; tell them how to fix their lives. But not you - in fact you help them solve their own problems by listening and asking great questions that can help them discover their own solutions. That’s great value!

5. Keep In Touch

And then the final part of this simple and fun job finding tactic is to find a way to get the best - yes, even more - from who you already know (remember the hundreds, maybe thousands of people in your ‘army’ of supporters?). Keep in touch from time to time. If you’ve had to rebuild relationships that have withered away, then make sure that you don’t let that happen in the future - keep in touch occasionally and make the bridge more solid. Provide a resource for them as they will for you, into the future for the success of you all.

Networking savvy is just one great, free job finding tactic that you can use. It’s easy, it requires no tricky meetings with people you don’t know, who only want to take from you. Of all the job finding tactics, this is the one you need and you can start tomorrow!

Raccoons, ‘Possums And My Cat Spike!

Raccoons have no manners! They’re slobs and the one staring at me didn’t seem to really care about the niceties of eating. Bits of dry cat food were soaking up water from where it had been sloshed out of the water bowl. The bag of food I’d laid on a table was now torn open and about 10 pounds of cat chow was strewn across the floor.

This particular raccoon had come in through the pet door into the garage and was happily eating leftovers from my cat Spike’s dinner bowl. He obviously had no fear of me, because he kept eating as I walked over to the work bench. Even though he appeared to half tamed, I was trying to keep a little distance between me and the raccoon.

Spike has a bed in the garage, in the house and on the deck. Whenever and wherever the mood strikes him to take a nap, he’s not very far from a comfortable pillow. He has become adjusted to seeing raccoons and possums enter his garage at all hours of the night. Tonight he was sleeping on the bed that used to be my work bench before he took it over. He was now peering over the side of the cardboard box that was his bed, at the raccoon that was making a mess of his eating area.

I heard a noise from the outside of the door as another animal entered the garage through the pet door. This time it was a possum! This fella seemed to know his way around for he immediately walked over to the food bowl and began staring at the raccoon. Each kept their eyes on each other, ignoring Spike and me.

The raccoon won the staring contest for the possum casually backed up and hid under a table at the corner of the garage. There he remained until I left the garage. Spike got tired of the show and went outside through his cat door.

The real name of this critter is opossum. But down here in the south we just call it a ‘possum. They are really, really fond of cat food, but will eat almost anything; rodents, insects, frogs, road kill, grains and fruits. ‘Possums are rather lazy, so if there is available food in a garbage can or cat food in a garage they will find it.

While their appetites knows no bounds, they are cowards and will rarely attack any animal bigger than them or any animal that might fight back, including cats. Oddly enough Spike seems to get along with both the varmints who have invaded our garage.

We live in the city, but fairly close to wooded areas that are homes to a variety of animals including, ‘possums, raccoons, foxes, and coyotes. Our city’s growth is slowly taking over the wild animal’s habitat, making the aroma of a trash can irresistible to critters who want a free lunch. As a result, raccoons and ‘possums have no great fear of man! Don’t leave a food source available to any of these varmints because they will find it sooner or later. If they can’t find food in your back yard, they will just move on.

I may have to try trapping the animal, but that didn’t work out very well last year. I used a gage-like trap that is supposed to close the entry way into the cage when the animal tries to eat the canned cat food in the back of the cage. It’s very humane. Of the five raccoons we had last year, none were caught. I did catch Spike twice. I’ve never accused him of being smart!

If you have a ‘possum get into your house, the best thing to do is to put a can of cat food just outside the door and let the animal go to the food. Then slam the door shut! They may scare you by hissing and snarling, but that’s just their defensive mechanism. It’s sort of scary when they bare their fifty teeth, but more than likely if you back away, they’ll never hurt you. One good thing about confrontations with a ‘possum is that they hardly ever get rabies.

I really hope they’ll leave soon. Spike and I would like to get our garage back.

Does Cold Laser Therapy Really Work to Quit Smoking?

While popular in Europe and Canada for over 22 years, laser smoking cessation treatments have only gained popularity in the US for about 5 years.

Clinical trial studies are currently being conducted in the US, with several cold laser manufacturers. One manufacturer has submitted substantial clinical trial records to the FDA for possible clearance. If approved, it will be the first laser in the US to be cleared as a quit smoking laser, making it an approved medical device.

It is now relatively easy to become smoke free with just one or sometimes two, fast, painless and non-invasive cold laser treatments. Some cold laser clinics are boasting an 85+ percent success rate for smoking cessation. Even with an apparent lack of fully accepted, FDA approved data, tens of thousands of smokers have given their two thumbs up to this method of treatment for over two decades.

With over 46 million smokers in the US, there is no doubt that people will be lining up in groves once these quit smoking laser treatments become mainstream. Lighting up while driving, after eating, after sex, and when stressed, nervous or bored, has a calming effect that smokers expect and enjoy. Thanks to a rush of endorphins such as dopamine and serotonin, smoking can make you feel good, however due to nicotine it can be highly addictive.

The Curse & “Cure” of the Nicotine Addiction.
The addictive components of smoking cigarettes are tri-fold: physical, mental and emotional. The cold laser treatment addresses the physical addiction most effectively, through its stimulation of the secretion of endorphins. It also exhibits a balancing and calming effect on the body and mind, which lingers sometimes for weeks. The most effective laser addiction treatment clinics offer support and incorporate a rounded program, which also addresses the mental and emotional components of smoking, including relationship to foods, caffeine, alcohol and costs associated with smoking vs. saving.

The highly addictive act of smoking cigarettes bombards the body with over 6000 chemicals, tars, odors, carcinogens and toxins that contribute to it being an extremely high health risk. The facts are in and the results show that cigarettes are the cause of over 1,200 deaths daily in the US, or 438,000 deaths annually. To prevent or avoid disease and premature death, quitting smoking is the #1 best decision one can make.

Smoking Cessation Options:
The options for helping to quit smoking include, pills, patches, hypnotherapy, acupuncture, counseling and cold laser therapy. All of these methods will work to some degree, however growing evidence suggests that cold laser therapy offers an impressive 85% success rate. The suggestion that laser smoking cessation therapy lacks supportive scientific data has been shot down by the thousands of satisfied, now ex-smokers.

Many people who were two or three pack a day smokers for 20-40 years report that they were able to easily quit smoking after just one laser treatment. Laser smoking cessation has been used at a steadily increasing rate throughout the world for over 22 years. Perhaps the tobacco companies are playing a role in preventing such an effective method from becoming mainstream in the US. After all, who has the most to lose by it being easy to quit smoking?

The Smoking Cessation Process with Cold Laser Therapy.
To quit smoking with cold laser therapy is easy. Here is how it is done. You find a certified cold laser clinic, pay an agreed upon fee of generally $195 to $400, and fill out an informed consent form that shows that you are participating in a clinical trial study.

An Investigational Review Board (IRB) keeps track of many clinical trial studies. It’s the studies, which are what will eventually make it possible for the FDA to finally start approving laser therapy for quitting smoking, as a medical device for mainstream use. It’s only a matter of time before using lasers for smoking cessation will be commonplace worldwide.

Now back to the treatment room. Just sit back in a comfortable chair and relax as a trained laser clinician treats key acupuncture points of the ear, face, hands and wrists. The treatment is completely painless and the laser is extremely safe, often referred to as a cold laser because it produces a specific laser beam at an intensity that will never heat or damage tissue.

The procedure is quite calming and only takes about 30 minutes to perform. The points used are based on the 5000 year-old practice of Chinese acupuncture, however when treated with the correct type of laser, gives smoking cessation results in often one or two treatments rather than 6-10 treatments with needles.

Don’t Let Past Issues Stop You From Affiliate Marketing Today

Where you stand on affiliate marketing may depend on your personal experience with it and on what you’ve heard from others. Some people will tell you that affiliate marketing is the best thing that ever happened to them because it proved to be an excellent source of income. Others might tell you affiliate marketing is all a shady scam littered with issues. In truth, neither is really wrong. However, learning more about affiliate marketing and finding a good program could change the opinion of even the most insistent opponents.

It’s absolutely true that affiliate marketing has its share of issues. When it first began to gain popularity, spam was a huge problem. Many affiliates sent copious email to anyone and everyone trying to promote their site. As a result, affiliate marketing really started off on the wrong foot and left many Internet users frustrated with the whole concept. Today, though, many affiliate merchants specifically prohibit the use of spam by their affiliates.

Another issue affiliate marketing faced early on was search engine spam, or spamdexing. Spamdexing is the practice of falsely inflating search engine rankings through somewhat unethical methods. Affiliates moved away from sending spam email to creating enormous numbers of autogenerated web pages that catered to popular search terms.

Spamdexers also created sites that were stuffed with affiliate links and offered little or no quality content. Major search engines have caught on to this practice, though, and have worked toward penalizing such sites through reduced rankings and even banning them. There’s no rule against including affiliate links in a website; however, the links must be relevant to the site’s content and the site must offer content that is of value to visitors.

One issue that affiliate marketers are actually taking steps to combat themselves is adware. Adware carries a negative connotation among most Internet users because it is annoying and uses up valuable space in the hard drive. Adware can seriously damage the reputation of merchants, which directly affects their affiliates. Therefore, affiliate marketers are actively working toward educating merchants about adware and are urging them not to advertise via adware.

It’s good to see affiliate marketers making a strong effort to work together because the lack of self-regulation within the industry is something that has caused many affiliate marketers and Internet users some concern. The affiliate marketing industry is led by entrepreneurs, and many of them are at the forefront of new trends in Internet marketing. Unfortunately, some of them are also unscrupulous, which further damages the reputation of the industry.

To date, the only place affiliate marketers have really been able to gather is in online forums where they remain anonymous. While it’s important that affiliates be given a chance to share their knowledge and experience, the anonymity itself can lend power where it really isn’t due since even a small affiliate can easily lie about results. There are trade shows for affiliate marketers. These trade shows usually come with a huge ticket price, though, so only the most successful affiliates are able to attend.

Probably the biggest “problem” with affiliate marketing is that so many people expect it to bring in loads of easy money. Yes, affiliate marketing can be an extremely lucrative business if you have the know-how. Then again, anything worth working for is never easy. There is no “overnight success” in the business world and people new to the industry should never expect to make millions- or even thousands- in just days.

Becoming a successful affiliate marketer takes a good deal of homework and time to get started. The good news is that there are a number of great programs on the market that can teach you everything you need to know, and many of them will even help you get your business started by providing an easy-to-use website creation package. Even with the best of programs, you’ll still need to put in the time. A good program will do you no good if you don’t take the time to read the materials and learn the information.

The hardest part about getting started in affiliate marketing is, well, getting started. Many successful affiliate marketers report that it took them a great deal of time and effort to get it all going. However, once their businesses were up and running, they were able to cut back on the number of hours they spent working and increase the time they spent on leisure activities and still make money while they were playing!
