Increase The Likelihood Of Your Email Marketing Campaigns Succeeding By Using Autoresponders

Autoresponders allow you to automatically respond to emails without so much as a click of the mouse.

They are an inexpensive method of quickly responding to emails.

Why are autoresponders essential to your business?

Besides just answering your email, autoresponders can be used to send information about your products or services, advertise your business, or publish articles. Autoresponders can also be set up to gather subscriptions for your ezine or newsletter and then send it out on a predetermined basis.

Why not offer your website visitors bonuses of some kind, such as ebooks or software?

All of this can be handled by autoresponders.

Autoresponders can do alot more then just answer your email. They can send out follow up messages to your prospects at predetermined periods of time. It is a fact that most people do not join any opportunity unless they are exposed to that opportunity over and over again. Have you tried doing that with normal email? I have.

TIP: There are many companies that offer free autoresponders. I would not recommend them because they attach ads to your emails and I want my prospects seeing my ads only. It is worth the small monthly fee for a good autoresponder and I highly recommend GetResponse.

Another great use for autoresponders is to offer training or courses to your website visitors for free. Choose a topic that you are familiar with and that targets your potential customers. Always start with a welcome message explaining what is to follow. Make sure your message is enticing and gets to the point quickly. Let them know that you are offering free, useful information that they will find of great value.

TIP: Do you own a domain? If not, I suggest you get one. It is cheap and will help you brand your business and your name. What does this have to do with autoresponders? Well, with your own domain you can set up different contacts, such as info or ezine and this can help you keep track of your email campaigns.

Using an autoresponder is not about just sending out sales emails constantly.

What is it about?

1. Building a relationship with your website visitors. Sending them information and free stuff, recommending things you think they can use.

2. The freedom to take the day off knowing that when you log in the next day you see that people still bought from you on your day off.

3. Prompt and timely replies. Most people are now accustomed to getting information fast.

4. Saving your valuable time for those tasks that really need your attention.

5. Providing your business with another essential ingredient for successful online marketing.

TIP: Autoresponders build lists. One thing about autoresponders is that you need to solicited email addresses. This is a great way to build an opt in email list for your business to help keep your potential customers within your reach.

It will be your responsibility to keep the people on your list updated and interested. Offer free information, such as a newsletter, something that they can use. Not only will you keep them interested but you can send them to your site over and over, and eventually they may make a purchase. If not, then they may be informed enough to provide word of mouth advertising for you website.

Most successful people on the Internet have a big, responsive list. It does take time and effort, but the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages.

Automate your business as soon as possible and get an autoresponder! They are an effective and powerful marketing tool.

How much money are you losing because you do not have the time to follow up or because you can not get information out quickly enough?

Make Your Subscribers Beg For More - Trust And Relationships

In a recent research effort, I subscribed to ten different opt-in e-mail marketing lists to see which ones were effective. Many websites and e-businesses have resorted to sending promotional materials to people who have subscribed to them in an effort to boost their sales or traffic. Opt-in email marketing sends newsletters, catalogs, updates and many more promotional materials to website visitors who have agreed to be updated periodically.

Through e-mail, an internet user that is on the list will receive their updates through email. If a promotional material piques their interest they will go to the site to learn more or to purchase outright. For the website operators or owners, this is a chance to remind their list of their existence and parlor their wares. With numerous sites on the internet that offer the same products or services in one way or the other, the competition can get pretty tight and it is easy to be forgotten.

Back to my research, I tried to find out which opt-in marketing strategies attracted a person and made them beg for more. Some material I received was fairly simple and straight forward, some was very outlandish, and many of the ten fel somewhere in between. The differences could easily be noticed and some employed a very effective opt-in marketing strategy. I labeled them effective because I felt like I just couldn’t wait to go to their site and learn more. The more persuasive ones even got me halfway to reaching for my wallet and my credit card before I realized this was only for research.

Many companies and sites present their promotional materials in a wide variety of concepts. Each has their own distinctive style and designs, but more than the outline and the presentation, the content and the articles are what keeps the attention of your potential customer locked on to your opt-in marketing medium. Creativity is the key here.

From talking to many satisfied opt-in list subscribers and forums, I have learned of what is essential in opt-in marketing and what makes the subscribers begging for more instead of lining up to unsubscribe.

Keep your promotional materials light, creative and original. Many people are stressed out as it is. Getting a stuffy business proposal rather than a light hearted e-mail may just agitate them more. A warm friendly smile or banter is always more welcome than a serious business meeting or proposal. While you do want your customers to take you and your products and services seriously, you also want to show them that you know how to have fun.

Splash some color in your emails as well as provide some photos and articles that can be related to you but show good news or good light hearted images as well. Provide a newsletter or promotional materials that will keep them in a light mood. Make your materials so eye catching and grabbing that they won’t be able to take their eyes of them. Pique their interests.

Have good content and article, even if it means investing in an experienced and professional copy writer to write them for you. An effective copy writer should be able to build trust between you and your customers. They should be able to establish your credibility in what they write. It must be informative but not too stuffy. Let go of the professional jargons and “talk” to your subscribers.

A good article and content should be able to outline the benefits of your product and services and why they need what you are offering. But do not appear be overeager or too persuasive. It should be able to entertain as well as lead them to buying from you. My newsletters always contain value-added content in the form of business building advice and guidance. I want you to benefit before I do.

Your promotional materials should be clear. Don’t leave people guessing. You should lead them to you and not vice versa. Explain to them what they need to do in a manner that won’t be confusing. Try also to anticipate what your target client needs. Do your research and information gathering, many sites will be able to help you with that.

Provide clear and crisp images of what you are offering. If the people know what you have for them, they are more likely to beg for more. For example, if you are selling a car, provide them photos but only enough to encourage them to go to your site for more.

If Your Subject Grabs The Readers Attention - They Will Read

The race for supremacy in the internet based businesses has been really heating up and many sites have been put up to help others to get ahead for a small fee. But there are also ways in which you don’t have to pay so much to make yourself a good list of loyal followers. Having satisfied web traffic and visitors allows you to put up a foundation wherein you can build an opt-in list and make it grow from there.

An opt-in list allows you to provide newsletters to your subscribers with their consent. When people sign up, they know that they will be receiving updates and news from your site and the industry your represent via an e-mail. But that doesn’t mean that all of those who subscribe read them at all. Many lists have been built due to an attachment with free software or for a promotional discount and such. Some are not really interested in receiving e-mails from companies and just treat them as waste of cyberspace and delete or trash them without so mush as opening the e-mail and scanning them.

You can change all that. While forwarding an email message is relatively after producing your newsletter. Getting people to open them is not as easy. You don’t want to waste all the time and effort used in making the newsletters, you want people to read them and have their interests piqued. Interested enough to go to your website and look around and most especially purchased and acquire your products or services.

One of the numerous ways you can tempt or persuade your subscriber is by providing a well thought out and well written subject. The subject of an email is what is often referred to when a person or a recipient of an email decides whether he or she wants to open or read an e-mail. The subject could easily be regarded as one of the most important aspect of your promotional e-mail.

Your subject must be short and concise. They should provide a summary for the content of the e-mail so that the recipient will have basic knowledge of the content. This is really vital in grabbing the attention of your readers and subscribers. You want your subject to instantly grab the attention of your subscriber and get them to be intrigued to open up your mail. Remember, it is not necessarily true that a subscriber opens up subscribed mails.

A good subject must always be tickling the curiosity of your recipient. It must literally force the recipient to open the mail. A certain emotion must be ignited and get them to open the mail. It is essential to use specific words to get the reaction you need. Keep in mind that the recipient or subscribers spends only a few seconds looking over each subject of the e-mails he receives. You must grab your reader’s attention right away.

There are many forms you can use for your subject. You can provide a subject that says your e-mail contains content that teaches them tips and methods on certain topics. An example of this is using keywords and keyword phrases such as, “How to” , “tips”, “Guides to”, Methods in and others like that.

You can also put your subject in a question form. These may include questions like, “Are you sick and tired of your job?” Or “Is your boss always on your case?” Try to stay on the topic that pertains to your site so that you’ll know that your subscribers have signed up because they are interested in that topic. This form of subject is very effective because they reach out to your recipients emotions. When they have read the question on your subject, their mind starts answering the question already.

You can also use a subject that commands your reader. Statements such as “Act now and get this once in a lifetime opportunity”, or “Double, triple and even quadruple what you are earning in one year”. This type of subject deals with the benefits your company provides with your product and services.

You may also use breaking news as your subject to intrigue your subscriber. For example, if you deal with car engine parts you can write in your subject, “Announcing the new engine that uses no gasoline, It runs on water”. This creates curiosity with the reader and will lead them to open the mail and read on.

3 Dead Easy Ways To Get More Subscribers And Build Your Opt-In List

It is obvious in the Internet world that people have to go to websites to find and get what they want. However the decision to buy the product can be quite hard for the customer to decide. This battle going on in the mind of your customer needs credibility and persuasion in order for your customer to set the decision you want them to make.

It has been said and proven that the email marketing strategy is the one of the strategies you should not miss out when you’re doing any system of Internet marketing. This is because first visit sales rarely make the cut. Customers have to be persuaded, reminded and told to visit our sites again to make them confirm and get the product. To properly administer email marketing, you first need an autoresponder like Aweber or GetResponse. The autoresponder is a software that can make automatic and sequential emails to your subscribers. What you should do next is to create an opt-in page for people to subscribe to you on your site.

The three easy opt-in strategies you can use to get people to subscribe to your opt-in list are:

1.Provide Them With A Bonus

Give your potential subscribers something to look forward to when they subscribe to your list. People get excited when they receive something they could get for free. You can provide for them a free bonus product that is of value whent hey subscribe to you. It can be a digital product such as an ebook or a physical sample of a product that you’re selling.

2.The Subscription Box

The Subscription box is a large square or rectangle formed by bold and dotted lines. The opt-in form where people impart their name and email address is placed into that box. The main purpose of the Johnson box is to get the attention of the visitor to psychologically move their eyes to the Johnson box, read the benefits of being your subscriber and subscribe to your list.

3.Write a Good Opt-In ‘Copy’

Other than providng your customers with a bonus, another better way of making them happy is to promote the bonus with powerful copywriting and persuasion techniques. For example, “Just Enter Your Name And Email Address To Claim Your Personal Development E-Book Worth $27, Absolutely FREE!” Make sure every word of that sentence is capitalized, and emphasize on the bonus and the opt-in list.

These three extremely easy ways of getting subscribers can be applied to websites and blogs. Simply automate your emails to your list and keep reminding them of what you’re selling on your website and always have a URL link that links to your website. You can search for email templates online that can guide you on how to effectively let your customers take action and purchase your products from your site.

The Many Creative and Profitable Faces of Autoreponders

An interested visitor who has been strolling through your site has finally come to just what she is looking for and is about to make a purchase. It’s a sunny afternoon, and her cat, who happens to be sitting on the moss under the visitor’s large fifty-year-old snow-rose bonsai tree, suddenly jumps down, and the priceless tree topples over.

In the blink of an eye, your visitor exits your site, and your sale is dust - unless you have had the foresight to utilize an autoresponder that has captured her email address. If you have installed an autoresponder, you can then follow-up with her, and in all probability, make the sale when the poor woman has finished repotting her precious bonsai.

Autoresponders are remarkable, versatile programs that do so much more than just automatically answer your email. Here are a few ideas that will help you to creatively and productively use your autoresponder to transform the casual visitor into a profitable customer. Use your autoresponder to:

1. Publish a newsletter. Certain quality autoresponders will manage subscriptions and follow-up with interested prospects. Your newsletter can keep your visitors informed about your services or products, while building your reputation as a credible expert in your particular business.

2. Publish a newsletter only for your affiliates. Inform them of current sales you are running and of promotional material that your affiliates can use themselves to increase their commissions. Include tips, advice, and techniques that your affiliates can use to successfully go out and promote your business.

3. Write reviews. Cover books, software, music, e-books, movies, etc., and put each review in an autoresponder. Review your affiliate programs, using a link to your affiliate’s page in your autoresponder.

4. Distribute your articles. Writing and distributing targeted articles is a powerful tool to build your business credibility, bring traffic to your site, and increase your sales potential. If your articles contain valuable information, many editors will print what is known as a resource box for you. A resource box contains your bio and a brief description of your service or product. It can also contain your autoresponder address. Let’s say you’ve written fifty articles. Put them on separate autoresponder accounts and create a master list that contains the titles of each article, the autoresponder address, and a brief abstract. Then promote your master list. Additionally, include your publishing guidelines so your affiliates can add their articles to your list, increasing the number of writers who are represented in your article list.

5. Create mailing lists. Inform subscribers to your articles when you’ve written new ones that they may want to publish in their own newsletter or website.

6. Automate your sales process. Use an ad to insure repeated exposure of your message, which has been proven to effectively increase sales. In your ad, put your autoresponder address where a visitor will be exposed to numerous marketing materials. This multiplies the chances of converting visitors into customers. For example, if you’re selling a particular product, put testimonials about how spectacular it is on your autoresponder, and add a detailed, enticing description of your product.

7. Distribute advertising. Let’s say you sell advertising on your website or in your newsletter or e-zine. Set your autoresponder to send the information about rates and how to place an ad automatically to all prospects’ email addresses. Then have your autoresponder follow-up. It can also send notification of any special deals you are currently offering.

8. Distribute an email course. Each day, have your autoresponder send out another lesson. Just be sure that each lesson has quality content - not a sales pitch. Your content will do the selling for you, and will do it much more effectively. You can include tips centered on a different topic for each lesson, illustrating how your product will benefit the reader. Include the tangible benefits the visitor will reap by purchasing your product. Make sure to include a paragraph or two at the end of each lesson enticing your prospect to consider making a purchase.

9. Automate a reminder about your service or product after a visitor has completed your course. This will increase the possibility of sales from visitors who have taken your course but are dragging their feet about actually making a purchase. You can also use these reminders to promote new products or services, and the products and services of your affiliate programs.

10. Distribute free reports. This gives your visitor an idea of the type of information you can provide and the quality of your product or service. Make sure these reports are not sales letters or you will more than likely lose a potential customer than gain a sale.

11. Create trivia quizzes on your site and place the answers in an autoresponder. Your visitor will then be motivated to request your autoresponder, and you will have a record of the visitors’ email addresses who took your quiz. Or create a contest and have any visitors that enter send their responses to your autoresponder. Your autoresponder can be set-up to send them a confirmation of their entry.

12. Offer a trial version of your product. Give your prospects a sample of your ebook, course, software, membership, etc. People who are exposed to a little taste often end up wanting the whole pie. You can also capture their email addresses when you offer them a free trial from your website. Set up your autoresponder to give instructions on how to obtain their free trial, and then make sure to follow-up to try and close the sale.

13. Link to hidden pages on your autoresponder. For example, a hidden page could be your affiliate page that contains graphics, promotional articles, and text links that interested affiliates can make use of. Inform visitors that they may have free access to your affiliate page by simply requesting your autoresponder. You will then gather a list of visitors who may be interested in becoming your affiliates.

14. Use an autoresponder on your order page. Post a request form for visitors to be notified of special offers or discounts in the future. This creates a very effective mailing list that contains the names of people who are already your customers.

15. Put your links page on your autoresponder. It should contain up to fifty links that would be of particular interest to your visitors. Make sure to add your own promotional copy at the top or bottom of this page.

Now that you have proof that autoresponders can be used creatively, see if you can come up with some brilliant ideas of your own!

The Top 4 Easy-To-Implement Strategies of Email Marketing

I have emphasized time and again that email marketing is the strategy to have in your business. How email marketing can help your sites is to help you monetize them by generating ongoing traffic and increase website conversion rates. Website conversion rate is the percentage of how many of your visitors that tranformed into your customers.

The top 4 strategies you should have in your emails are:

1. A Compelling Headline

Give your emails a title they deserve to get people feel compelled to read on whatever it is you’re trying to put across in your email. Use copywrting skills and create a powerful headline that can arouse the curiosity of your subscribers. Basically, the whole point of a compelling headline is that it is the starting point to make your subscribers move on to the next step and that is, reading the content of your email.

2. Great Content

What I mean by great content is not a blow-by-blow account on how good your product is or a lengthy newsletter. Leave content description to be only in your salesletter. What you can do is, like the headline, create an compelling content body of at least minimum of 2 paragraphs and arouse curiostity to your subscribers.

Make them feel as if they’re losing out on something that you’re benefiting on. Give them free gifts, techniques and advice to gain trust from them so that they would impart their money with you.

3. URL Placement

The placement your URL is important. If you can actually recall, most Internet marketers place their URLs in three different locations. The first location is the starting of the email, in the body copy and after the conclusion.

4. Email Template

Create one email template and stick with it. If you’d like to give newsletters to your subscribers, create a newsletter template and use that template for a very long time. Do not vary your emails often, or else your subscribers might think that you’re playing games with them or that you’re not serious.

These four easy strategies can be implemented by just anyone. Email marketing has the power to give you recurring traffic, profit and keep your customers updated and keep abreast of things. Make full use of these four techniques because as simple as they are, most Internet marketers tend to make it more complicated than it is by adding more content, changing the template and so on and did they succeed quite well in email marketing? No.

How To Build A Profitable Email List!

Email marketing is still the most cost effective way to build your online business, and the best way to succeed with email marketing is to have your own quality mailing list.

An opt in email list contains addresses of people who have agreed to receive information from you, whether that be a newsletter or promotions relating to your online business. It is very important that you get peoples permission first before sending them any information. If you are accused of spam then your ISP may cancel your account.

Building a profitable email list takes a lot of persistence and patience, but it is possible. More importantly a permission based email list can bring you much better results then a purchased one. Why? Because a permission based email list consists of people that you know are interested in what you are offering. Who knows what the people on a purchased list are interested in.

Your mailing list can consist of current customers, old customers, potential customers, prospects and new leads.

How can you get started?

- The single most important thing that you can do to build your list is to have a sign up form on your website. If not, then you are missing out on an easy way to grow your list. Not only should you put the form on your home page, but put it on every page you have as well. Do it now! Go to GetResponse and get set up as soon as possible.

- Any form at all on your website should ask for permission for you to send out future mailings. If someone downloads one of your ebooks make sure you ask for their email address so you can send them updates. You get the idea.

- One way to build your email list is to use classified advertising. Classified ads work very well for finding new prospects. Offer a free report or article relating to your topic of interest. Classified ads work great when you use such lines as: write for further information, free report or software, etc. Be creative in your ads and have fun as you build your email list.

- Partner with other websites that are similar to your own. Ask to exchange links or banner ads for your newsletter, or see if they could add your newsletter to their opt in form.

- Contact other email marketers who already own a list and advertise your newsletter or website in their newsletters. You can also inquire about solo ads. Solo ads are a good way to promote your newsletter because your ad is sent out solo to all the addresses on a list.

- Viral marketing is a good way to generate interest in your newsletter and help to build your email list. Always include a forward to a friend link in every one of your newsletters as well as a sign up link for those new readers.

- The truth is that once your subscribers believe and trust in you then they will buy from you. You can build this trust by publishing articles relating to your websites content. Use your resource box or author bio to advertise your newsletter.

- Put together a forum or discussion group on your website to find out what your customers wants may be and then target those wants.

- Join other forums and provide recommendations and expert advice to help build your reputation.

- Make friends with someone who has a successful email list. Experience is the best teacher.

Every successful business should have a mailing list, but failing to communicate with your list could mean losing the most valuable asset of your business.

The key to Internet success is to get your business noticed and one of the most effective ways to do this is by building an opt in email list.

If you are still not sure of the importance of building your own targeted opt in email list then here are a few more tips that you may find useful.

1. Determine your target market. It will be much more difficult to build your list if you do not have a particular market in mind. Having a target market will also allow you to focus more on your campaigns which will give you better results since you are directing your emails to those who will most likely respond to them.

2. Your target market should be widely available on the Internet. How can you promote your online business if no one is interested? Research your market and avoid wasting any time.

3. Use the search engines to verify your target markets income producing potential. Search for ads that contain keywords relating to your interest and if you find many then you know that if people are willing to pay for advertising relating to your market then chances are good that you picked a winner.

It takes alot of preparation and effort to build a profitable email list and it does not happen overnight. They are built one email address at a time. As your list gets bigger it is important to maintain the quality of your list. Keep it clean and organized. Most of all, make sure your subscribers are satisfied and if they are, then they will make sure you are too.

The success of your online business depends on your opt in email list. Consider your list as valuable as gold and as most successful online marketers say, the money is in the list.

Is Email Marketing Slowly Killing Spam?

Even some of the most crafty marketers - you know the ones just about everyone hates - the spammers, will admit Spam is almost dead. It has been greatly taken over by the use of e-mail marketing.

It is said that Spam is on the decline, contrary to popular belief. The rate that it is falling is approximately 13% per year. Why? Because the marketer now sees that e-mail is the marketing choice for the pros.

By the year 2010 they say that Spam will in fact be a thing of the past. It is also interesting to note that the market spending in this fashion will grow from $885 million, to $1.1 billion dollars in as little time as well.

It is said that the bulk of the e-mailing for businesses in the year 2010 will be of the transactional, acquisitioned, and retention methods. With the remainder of e-mail leveling out between customers gain and personal e-mails heading up the rest.

It is clear to see why the Spam is diminishing at such a rapid rate; the e-mail filtering is getting stronger almost monthly.

The amount of Spam that the everyday normal user will see Spam cut in half from 2005 to 2010. This will set the pace for the e-mail marketing to take over. With new technology in place, it is easy for someone to recognize the difference between Spam and an actual e-mail from a company that is doing a follow up for business purposes.

It is clear by consumer reports that individuals will stay clear from e-mail servers that do not offer top of the line Spam filters. This is not to say that there are not still a plethora of servers available to the open market. The reason for the big concern right now is the cost of incorrectly blocked e-mails. This rate is at approximately $107 million dollars right now; it is expected to fall to approximately $88 million by 2010.

In turn this will make for a much easier time to reach out to the consumer, by way of e-mail marketing once the Spam is truly eradicated. It is the idea that there will be a very organized arena for e-mail marketing that has business owners in hoots and hollers. They truly know the potential for this wonderful and inexpensive medium.

The improvement of the practices in list management will be stronger, and the ISP will have a stranglehold on the Spam. With all this technology, and the will to make the marketplace a safer business realm, it is clear that e-mail marketing can easily be allowed into the fold as one of the most productive marketing and business tools for the future. For now we still have to deal with all this junk called Spam.

Autoresponders - An Email Marketer’s Most Powerful Tool

It’s common knowledge amongst internet marketers that if you want to make serious money online, you need to have your own email list of subscribers. To do this you need an autoresponder, as this will act as a complete list management solution, as I’m about to demonstrate in the remainder of this article.

An autoresponder is an invaluable tool to any webmaster who wants to make more money online. It allows you to add an opt-in form to your website or blog, so you can capture your visitors’ name and email address. Once they opt-in they are automatically added to your list.

So if you offer a free bonus, mini-course or newsletter, for example, that will encourage your visitors to opt-in, you can start building a responsive list of subscribers who you can market your products to in the future (making sure you provide good content as well).

Most autoresponders make it very easy to create this opt-in form. You just customize it’s look and appearance using the opt-in form generator provided, then simply copy and paste the html code into your website or blog.

So that’s one benefit of an autoresponder, but that’s just the beginning. A good autoresponder will also enable you to create and send as many messages to your subscribers as you want. All you do is log in to your account, write your message, and either broadcast it immediately, or schedule it to go out at a later date. You can also select individual groups of subscribers who will receive the message, which is useful for split-testing or for sending regional messages, for example.

The fact that you can schedule messages to go out at future dates also makes it very easy to create mini-courses, and if you want you could even create and schedule several months, or even years worth of messages, so your whole email marketing approach becomes completely automated.

So why choose an autoresponder and pay a small monthly fee, when you can use your own email server and handle it yourself?

Well this is another major benefit of an autoresponder because the largest and most reputable providers have very good relationships with the various email companies, which therefore means that the emails sent by the autoresponder company, and it’s users, have very high delivery rates.

This is in stark contrast to self-run email servers, which have far worse delivery rates, and tends to get worse over time, as it only takes a few complaints from subscribers to get yourself blacklisted with the various email companies.

So to conclude, if you want to increase your chances of generating more profits from your websites and blogs, then you have to make full use of an autoresponder so you can follow up with your subscribers via email. This ensures that the visitors you receive are not lost forever when they leave your websites.

James Woolley is a full-time marketer who has built up responsive email lists in not only the internet marketing niche, but other niches as well. All of these lists are run from one autoresponder account. Click here to find out which autoresponder he recommends:

List Building - 4 Ways To Build A Quality List Of Subscribers

When building your list, should you be focusing on building as large a list as possible by whatever means, or building a quality list of subscribers? Well ask any email marketer and they will tell you that a quality list, regardless of size, is far more profitable than a list of freebie seekers.

Of course there are ways of monetizing a list of freebie seekers as I’ve demonstrated in another recent article I’ve written, but ultimately you should be striving to build a list of subscribers responsive to your offers, and interested in what you have to say.

Listed below are four ways you can go about building a quality list of responsive subscribers:

1. Post regularly in forums relevant to your niche.

Forums are one of the best places to attract targeted subscribers because you’ve effectively got your target audience all in one place. For example, if you were building a list targeting people interested in carp fishing, then a great way of attracting these people would be to post regularly in carp fishing forums. By having a link to your opt-in page in your sig file and making quality and helpful posts regularly, you can very easily build a targeted list.

2. Write articles.

This is becoming an increasingly popular way of building a quality list, but is still underused by the majority of marketers. By writing articles relevant to your niche on a regular basis and posting them to article directories and ezine publishers, you can again attract your target audience to join your list. Why? Because the people who will ultimately read your articles are obviously interested in the subject of your article, and if they want to find out more about you, will gladly click on the link to your opt-in page that you can include in the resource box.

3. Pay-per-click advertising.

Whereas the previous two methods were free, this one does involve spending some money, but nevertheless can often deliver a positive return on investment. The trick is to have an appealing one time offer that visitors see straight after they opt-in to your list. This way you can often recoup your money almost immediately, so in effect you are building your list for free. This is also one of the best ways to build a targeted list because you can choose the exact keywords you want to target, so you know that the people who opt-in are very interested in what you have to offer.

4. Build a list of buyers.

This is the ultimate list that all marketers want - a list of proven buyers. Of course this is harder to achieve because you will need to create your own product, find ways of selling this product, and then add the buyers to your customer list, where you can then promote products to in the foreseeable future. These are far and away the most responsive and profitable people you could ever have on your list, and even if you have built up a quality list using other methods, your long-term goal should still be to create products and build up your customer list.

So to conclude, don’t fall into the trap of trying to build as big a list as possible and advertising all over the internet, because you will simply be spending too much time building a low quality and untargeted list. Focus your efforts on attracting targeted and responsive subscribers by posting on relevant forums, writing articles, advertising on Google and other pay-per-click networks, and ultimately try and create your own products so you can build a highly profitable customer list for maximum profits.
