Experimenting With The Swiss Ball
The Swiss ball which is commonly known as the exercise ball is made up of an elastic rubber with a diameter ranging from 22 to 34 inches. This is used for purposes of exercise and physical therapy rehabilitation purposes. The Swiss ball is known for its benefits in core strength and functional training. It focuses mainly on strengthening the torso with fewer probabilities of injuries.
It is better to exercise with the ball’s instability rather than on a flat surface. The ball promotes the action of maintaining balance and proper posture at the same time it is good in working most of the core muscles in the body. The Swiss ball promises different usage levels of difficulty that may require the support of the stomach muscles and the back which helps in firming up the trunk of the body.
The Swiss ball can also increase the lower back’s mobility, abdominal and back muscle strength, improves balance and stability and it can also promote proper body mechanics while lifting various objects.

Weight training - The Swiss ball can be used as a substitute for the weight bench. The challenge here is that you will always be conscious at keeping your balance since the ball is unstable in terms of its material which is rubber.
Abdominal training - When doing your crunches and twists on the Swiss ball, there is an added difficulty into it because you need to exert more strength in doing the exercise to fight off gravity, keep the balance as well as maintain the proper mobility of your body.
Stretching - The ball can also be used for stretching. The ball is structured in such a manner to help act as an aid in most of the stretching and yoga exercises since the ball itself is flexible.
Balancing - Believe it or not, some people use the Swiss ball as substitute for the ordinary chairs in the office or at home. This is already an exercise since balance is required and posture is involved. This can be done while relaxing without making exercise feel more like a chore.
For playing - Let us not disregard the fact that aside from the Swiss ball being an exercise tool this is, undeniably an oversized ball which can also be used for play. One has to be careful though to prevent accidents.
