Women’s Fashion - No Small Wonder

Fashion is an ever changing industry making it very difficult to keep up with, especially with women’s fashion. What was thought to be outdated can make a comeback in a blink of an eye.

It’s no small wonder that many females simply find it overwhelming to keep up. Fashion is all over the media, from fashion shows to magazines, and TV shows. Who can tell what to where and when to where it. There are so many things to choose from: skirts, shorts, Capri’s, jeans, trousers, just to start. Not to mention, there are so many different cuts, makes, and materials, just going shopping can be a test. With so many different sources telling you to where so many different things… how can anyone choose what suits them appropriately.

The shear immensity of the fashion industry moves from the runway to the department store you shop at. It is impossible for anyone to talk about the fashion industry without talking about today’s models, the ones who supposedly set the standard for what fashion is. It has been made even more difficult with all of the size 0 models walking the runways because the average woman is not a size zero. Kids and women alike look to these models for tips on what is hot. Any body type and size can look good if you wear for your body type. Today’s mainstream fashion is aimed at the younger audience, those that are small, but slowly, like in the “Tyra Banks Show” plus sized models are being incorporated. This allows all body types to find fashionable things to wear. Also, the way fashion is heading, not letting models that are underweight walk the runway, helps to not exclude the majority of America’s women.

Just as there is a large diversity of fashion in the world, so is there a large diversity of women’s body types. Fashion is directly related to body type, which takes us to the runway. Be happy with yourself and dress to feel good, that will take care of the fashion. People worry too much on what is fashionable when it might very well be different tomorrow. Get advice when you need, even ask an expert if you want, but fashion is only a trend, so I would not put too much heart into it. Fashion is ever changing, it is important to dress to be happy.
